Klasien Horstman is professor in Philosophy of Public Health at Maastricht University, The Netherlands. Making use of philosophy, science and technology studies and sociology she does qualitative research in diverse global public health practices like vaccination, (work place) health promotion, public mental health, infectious disease control, urban health. She studies how public health practices develop on the interface of science, politics and society, become more or less ‘public’, and co-construct specific inequities.
