Alexandra De Sousa Fernandes is an Early Stage Researcher at HIVA – Research Institute for Work and Society. Her research aims at defining a theoretical framework for constructing a satellite account that measures the size and structure of the informal economic activities that imply tax and social contributions evasion and avoidance, and its impact on public finances.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidade do Minho (Braga, Portugal) in 2017 and her master’s degree in Economics from Faculdade de Economia do Porto (Oporto, Portugal) in 2019. Prior to joining HIVA in February 2021, Alexandra worked for two years as a Transfer Pricing Consultant at KPMG Portugal.
